In the shadowy underbelly of crime, retired gangster Fernand, portrayed by Lino Ventura, is yanked back into the tumultuous world he left behind by a desperate call from "The Mexican," a mob boss on his deathbed. As per his friend's last request, Fernand finds himself juggling an illicit criminal empire and the responsibility of shepherding the boss's soon-to-be-wedded daughter.
