Plot

Aspiring to claim the esteemed role of Head of Pediatrics at a renowned Chicago hospital, a highly skilled and ambitious young pediatrician finds himself agreeing to an unusual prerequisite - to establish a clinic in the quaint, heart-throbbing town of Dunn's Rock nestled within the serene mountains of North Carolina. Accompanied by his 10-year-old son, he exchanges the familiar hum of city life for a summer steeped in rustic charm and quiet simplicity. Faced with the stark contrast of life in this small community, his sophisticated city ethos starkly clashes with the unhurried pace of life in Dunn's Rock. Amidst this clash, he is compelled to confront the haunting specter of his wife's recent demise, a wound still raw and painful. As he grapples with his loss, he also endeavors to rekindle the strained threads of his relationship with his son, a bond left brittle by grief and ambition. In this idyllic backdrop, the big-city doctor gradually uncovers life's profound truths hidden in the simple things. As he navigates the challenges of setting up a clinic in an unfamiliar landscape, he discovers that the key to his future doesn't solely rest on his professional achievements but also on embracing a different rhythm of life. As the summer unfurls, so does the depth of his understanding, leading him closer to the job of his dreams and a newfound appreciation for the subtleties of existence.
