In the heart of the Virginia countryside, within the lush bounds of the exquisite Ashford Estate, Lizzie Richfield finds herself standing at life's crossroads. As the newly appointed house manager, her task is to dress the estate for sale. However, an air of discord hangs heavy over the Marley family, the estate's current occupants, a clan united in name but fragmented in spirit. With the impending sale of their beloved home, Lizzie decides to arrange one final Christmas Eve gala, a grand attempt to knit the frayed threads of the Marley family back together. The family is a colorful medley: the charismatic Kip Marley, whose life is an endless party; Robert, the handsome yet stoic executor of the estate; Sloane, the independent mother of two who arrives without her husband, and the feisty matriarch Pippa, strongly opposed to selling the house she calls home. As Lizzie weaves herself into the tapestry of the Marley household, she finds her heart being tugged towards the serious Robert, even as the effervescent Kip seeks her affections. Amidst the dance of complicated love and simmering family disputes, Lizzie must find a way to teach the Marleys - and perhaps herself - the true essence of Christmas. In the process, she discovers that coming home for Christmas could mean more than she ever imagined.
