Cocktail (2010)

Ravi Abraham (Anoop Menon), a central figure in a thriving construction firm, navigates a sea of envy from within and outside his office. His personal life is a sanctuary, shared with his loving wife, Parvathy (Samvrutha Sunil), and their cherished daughter, Ammu. However, their serene existence is shattered one fateful day when a stranger, Venkitesh (Jayasurya), hitchhikes with them, transforming their lives into a living nightmare. Initially, Venky seems a harmless, simple-hearted man but quickly unveils his malicious intentions. He manipulates the couple with the dreadful revelation that their daughter has been kidnapped, and her life hangs by the thread of his phone call. Ravi and Parvathy are thrust into a harrowing series of bizarre tasks, from draining their bank account only to watch the money burn and sink into a river to revealing sensitive corporate secrets and engaging in unsavory dealings. As the sun sets, their ordeal leads them to a sordid lodge where Venky begins to undress Parvathy but refrains from going further. Their terrifying journey culminates at Ravi's boss's house, where he must make the unthinkable decision of trading his boss's life for his daughter's. When Ravi steps into the house, the curtains are abruptly pulled back, revealing a web of deceit. He discovers his colleague Devi in the house; it is her home, Venky is her husband, and she is his secret lover. The twisted day was an elaborate scheme orchestrated by Venky and Parvathy, both victims of their spouses' unfaithfulness, to make them experience the pain they had endured. The film closes on an emotionally powerful note, showing Ravi and Parvathy at a hospital a year later, where they witness a paralyzed Devi, a casualty of her own despair, being tenderly cared for by Venky, painting a poignant depiction of the consequences of betrayal.
