In an enchanted kingdom, a wealthy, noble man revels in the joys of life with his devoted wife and their radiant child. Tragically, his wife succumbs to a severe illness, leaving his daughter bereft of a mother's love. Desiring companionship for his child, the man remarries, bringing into their home a woman and her two daughters who possess hearts as cold and hard as stone. When business calls the man away, the vile stepmother and her daughters strip the man's child of her comforts. They relegate her to the cinders of the fireplace, where she sleeps on a bed of straw, earning her the moniker "Cinderella".
Elsewhere in the kingdom, the palace is abuzz with anticipation as the prince, now of age, grapples with the challenge of finding a suitable queen. To assist him, the king orchestrates a grand ball, extending invitations to all the unwed maidens in the land.
Cinderella, though oppressed, isn't forgotten. Her fairy godmother intervenes, assisting her in transforming into the belle of the ball. At the dance, she enchants the prince, her identity remaining a tantalizing mystery to him. As the clock strikes midnight, Cinderella is forced to flee, heeding her godmother's warning, and in her haste, she leaves behind a single glass slipper. This delicate artifact becomes the prince's only clue to finding the mysterious maiden who has captivated his heart.
