In the heart of a small town, Olivia Mead, a bright-eyed girl full of hope and belief, lives with her single mother, Melinda Davis. Melinda co-owns a bakery with Daphney and Jeb Conroy, parents of Olivia's best friend, Lucas. As the Christmas season dawns, the children's school tasks each student to articulate their most heartfelt Christmas wish. Olivia and Lucas, bound by their innocent belief in magic, are convinced that the long-forgotten house next door to Olivia's home is a wish-granting sanctuary - provided a rock is thrown at it. Intrigued by the peculiar phenomenon, Olivia stumbles upon the reclusive Dr. Nathan Davis, the house's owner, who is determined to prevent the children from pelting his property. Undeterred, Olivia's curiosity leads her to discover that the house is not abandoned but inhabited by Elsie Waybright, a once-celebrated jazz singer who mysteriously stepped back from the limelight. As the Christmas spirit begins to weave its magic, a few of Olivia's classmates find their wishes coming true, further cementing her belief in the house's mysterious power. Olivia is convinced that Elsie is an angel in disguise, and in a leap of faith, she wishes for a husband for her lonely mother. As if in response to her wish, the enigmatic Dr. Davis starts drawing closer to Melinda. However, Olivia finds herself torn between her wish and her mother's budding relationship with Dr. Davis. Instead, she finds herself dreaming of her mother's life entwining with her charismatic substitute school teacher's. As the days till Christmas dwindle, Olivia, Melinda, and Elsie's lives intertwine in a heartwarming dance of faith, love, and the true magic of Christmas. The journey unfolds, reminding them that some things are best left in the hands of the divine. The question remains: what will happen by the time Christmas Eve arrives?
