In the heart of adolescence at 15, Richard navigates life with learning challenges, yearning for stability amidst the sporadic lifestyle enforced by his disruptive older brother, Polly. Their nomadic existence is further threatened when their humble abode, a caravan on borrowed land, is claimed by a new proprietor, plunging them into an abyss of worsening conditions as their lifeline, an electricity supply, is severed. Their lives take an unexpected turn when Richard finds himself enchanted by the landowner's 17-year-old daughter, Annabel. In contrast, Polly finds questionable camaraderie with the operators of a dubious traveling fair.
