Caged (2010)

In the aftermath of unrest in the former Yugoslavia, a trio of French medical workers - the compassionate Carole, pragmatic Samir, and seasoned Dr. Mathias - are on a return journey from Kosovo to Paris, traveling through a landscape scarred by conflict. Their journey is abruptly halted by a military roadblock, the soldiers dutifully clearing unseen mines from the path, forcing an unwanted delay of three hours. The impatient Dr. Mathias suggests an alternate route, a secondary road less travelled, leading them into the heart of the unknown. Their path becomes a labyrinth of confusion and they seek guidance at an isolated homestead, only to find themselves ensnared in a deadly trap. A van, appearing out of nowhere, cuts off their escape on the desolate road, leading to their abduction. They are thrown into dank, grimy cells, their only comfort being sparse meals. The true horror of their predicament is revealed when Samir is taken from his cell, unravelling the sinister intentions of their captors.
