In the limelight of fame and tempestuous love, Elizabeth Taylor, the glamorous film star, extends an invitation to her twice-married and divorced ex-husband, Richard Burton, to her 50th birthday bash. As a man grappling with his sobriety, Burton resists the temptation to plunge into a sea of alcohol with her. However, he finds himself contemplating Taylor's proposition of them headlining a theatrical comeback with the play 'Private Lives'. As the news of their collaboration breaks, the media is abuzz with speculations of a romantic reunion.
