Whisper of the Heart (1995)

Shizuku is shy, but the 14-year old Japanese student finds fulfillment by immersing herself in imaginary worlds. She's a voracious reader who's constantly visiting the library — but she finds an interesting pattern when she discovers that all the books she checks out have already been read by someone named Seiji Amasawa. When she meets him, the boy is nothing like she imagined. Infuriatingly haughty and self-centered, Seiji calls himself the "King of Books". But Shizuku discovers that there's more to Seiji than he initially appears. Their friendship helps her get out of her shell and helps Seiji soften his harsh edges.
