"Burning Palms" is a startling anthology of five unsettling tales, each showcasing the varying shades of madness in the heart of Los Angeles. In "Green-Eyed Monster," a sharp-tongued teenage girl returns from her elite private school, only to find her father engaged to Dedra, a woman she barely knows. The ensuing father-daughter dynamic unnerves Dedra. "Little Piggy" revolves around a woman, who after an intimate encounter with her boyfriend, finds herself unable to rid her finger of a lingering scent. "Buyer's Remorse" introduces us to Tom and Gerry, a sophisticated West Hollywood pair, who, in their quest for parenthood, purchase a child from the black market. Their joy is subdued as they anxiously await her first word. "Kangaroo Court" takes us into the life of a cruel child who deeply distresses his maid by stealing the placenta from her deceased infant. Lastly, "Man Eater" follows the determined journey of a woman who, after being violated, discovers the perpetrator's wallet left at her home. As she hunts him down, we're left wondering about the nature of her impending revenge. This is "Burning Palms" - a compelling exploration of the unpredictable human psyche, veiled behind the sun-kissed facade of Los Angeles.
