In a small, unnoticed corner of India, we meet Rakesh (Abhishek Bachchan), a restless soul brimming with inventive schemes and grand ambitions that dwarf the confines of his humble hometown. Meanwhile, in a different small town, we find Vimmi (Rani Mukerji), a spirited young woman with aspirations that extend far beyond becoming a conventional bride. She envisions herself as the "Miss India" the world simply can't resist. When the monotony of their lives becomes unbearable, both Rakesh and Vimmi decide to break free. Their paths cross on this journey of liberation, and through a serendipitous twist of fate, the legend of Bunty and Babli is born, flipping the world on its head. We then embark on a rollercoaster ride with this dynamic duo as they morph into spiritual gurus, bureaucrats, gangsters, business tycoons, a harried husband and pregnant wife, and even star-crossed lovers caught in a downpour. With their wit and audacity, they manage to outfox a motley crew of rajahs, power brokers, wedding musicians, millionaires, investors, politicians, elephants, explorers, hoteliers and tea vendors. However, one person remains unamused by their antics - the stern and relentless policeman, DCP Dashrath Singh (Amitabh Bachchan).
