Plot

In the pulsating heart of Tokyo, amidst the obscurity of a laundry plant, two enigmatic friends, Nimura and Mamoru, share an uncanny bond. Their lives, soaked in the monotony of manufacturing oshibori - the moist hand-towels symbolizing Japanese hospitality - become the backdrop of an unusual tale. Nimura, a dreamer, seeks refuge in his aspirations for a brighter future, while Mamoru, an eccentric, painstakingly adapts a venomous jellyfish to fresh water, their pet symbolizing their shared, volatile temperaments. Their peculiar friendship and diligent work don't go unnoticed by their boss, who appreciates their efforts with a bonus and the promise of full-time employment. But this semblance of normalcy shatters when Mamoru, in a torrent of unexplained rage, annihilates his boss's family, leading to his death sentence. The aftermath leaves Nimura alone with the jellyfish, which he releases into Tokyo's canal, unknowingly threatening the city's populace. In the wake of this tragedy, Mamoru's father journeys to Tokyo to bid farewell to his son. Nimura, now entangled in the father's sorrow, remains by his side, seeking solace and meaning in their shared loss. As the jellyfish multiplies, its venomous threat looming over Tokyo, the narrative weaves a poignant tale of friendship, rage, and redemption, set against the vibrant tapestry of a city teetering on the brink of chaos.
