Boogie Boy (1998)

Jesse Page, a reformed felon, yearns for a simple life away from the shadows of his past. His dreams are disrupted by his former cellmate Larry, who pulls him back into the underworld for a perilous drug deal. When the transaction turns deadly and the dealers perish, Jesse, Larry, and their comrades are plunged into a desperate flight. They find refuge in a crumbling motel nestled in the barren California desert, a haven teetering on the edge of chaos. Jesse hatches a plan to escape his past for good by rejoining a band in Detroit he once played with. However, the relentless presence of Larry, coupled with the motel's quirky owner, Edsel, and his unhinged ex-stripper wife Hester, complicates his journey to redemption. All the while, the specter of the slain drug dealers looms ominously, slowly drawing a net around Jesse and his company. As time ticks away, Jesse must navigate the labyrinth of his past mistakes, unexpected alliances, and dangerous adversaries to find his way to salvation.
