Body of Deceit (2017)

Brilliant but troubled ghostwriter Alice (Kristanna Loken) is halfway through crafting a masterpiece for an acclaimed bestselling author, but finds herself imprisoned by a crippling writer's block. Her life took a drastic turn a year ago when a horrifying accident in the golden sunlit island of Malta plunged her into a two-week coma. Upon awakening, Alice discovered vast gaps in her memory, leaving her with no recollection of the life-altering incident or her time in Malta. These blank pages in her past have since been filled with haunting nightmares and a gnawing depression that seemingly has no cure. In an attempt to reignite her creative spark and meet the looming deadline set by her publisher, Alice's husband and agent Max (Antonio Cupo) convinces her to return to the scene of her accident, his family's serene Maltese villa nestled amidst lush lemon groves. Their arrival is met with the warmth and charm of Sara (Sarai Givaty), a captivating Mediterranean woman hired to assist with household duties. Sara quickly forms a bond with Alice, their contrasting personalities intertwining in a dance of friendship and trust - one woman radiating sensuality and confidence, the other shrouded in mystery and insecurity. However, the tranquility is punctured by the persistent presence of a stranger, Castellano (Giulio Berruti), who skulks around the villa, shadowing Sara, engaging Alice in cryptic conversations, and engaging in clandestine exchanges with a local policeman.
