In the unforgiving wilderness of 17th century Quebec, a stoic Jesuit priest, christened as the 'Black Robe' by the indigenous inhabitants, embarks on a perilous journey to reach a distant mission amongst the Huron tribe. Accompanied by a young companion and a small band of Algonquin Indians, the caravan trudges through the chilling dead of winter, under the watchful shadows of the majestic mountains.
