Plot

In a haunting vision of the future, society fractures into a brutal war between the sexes. Lily, a young teenager, desperately tries to elude the relentless bloodshed. Her harrowing escape from a band of men who have just annihilated a group of women thrusts her into a surreal haven concealed from the savagery of her world. Her sanctuary? An enigmatic farmhouse, a realm teetering between reality and fantasy. The property is a carousel of peculiar inhabitants: a bedridden old woman who converses in an unknown language, communicates through a wireless radio, and bonds with a rat named Humphrey; a pair of mute siblings, both sharing Lily's name yet spelled differently; a flock of unclothed child shepherds; and, most curiously, a loquacious unicorn. Each resident, a cryptic puzzle, challenges her understanding of normality. Though her relationships with these eccentric characters oscillate between harmony and discord, especially with the elderly woman, Lily endeavors to carve her niche in this bizarre refuge, a welcome alternative to the atrocities of her previous life. In this world where images and allegories supersede the narrative, the tale of Lily's struggle to evade the gender war and her journey in this peculiar oasis cannot be encapsulated in mere words. It is a voyage that veers away from conventionality, exploring the labyrinth of human nature and the boundaries of reality. This film, "Black Moon," is an avant-garde tapestry weaving a unique exploration of survival and identity.
