Plot

In the early dawn of April 4, 1959, the world of ace detective Rokuro Fujisawa takes a grim twist. An ordinary walk with his faithful hound morphs into a chilling encounter with death, as they stumble upon a lifeless woman. Rummaging through her handbag, Fujisawa unveils her identity - Setsuko Ikuta, a stewardess who flew high with an international airline, and mysteriously, a special delivery envelope from the enigmatic Church Guglielmo. Concerned about Fujisawa's maverick methods, his superiors assign him a new partner, the steady and reliable Yoshitaka Ichimura. Together they delve into the shadowy corners of the case. Their relentless pursuit of truth unearths a pivotal clue; a foreign-registered blue Renault, eerily similar to one owned by the Church Guglielmo, was spotted near the grim discovery. As the narrative unfolds, the strands of this tangled mystery begin to wind tighter, drawing Fujisawa and Ichimura deeper into a labyrinth of deceit and danger. Will they find the killer or become ensnared in the web of secrets themselves? "Black Gospel" is a riveting exploration of determination, intelligence, and the sometimes dark underbelly of faith.
