Plot

In the pulsating heart of 1930s Berlin, Max, a carefree and promiscuous gay man, finds himself at loggerheads with his affluent family due to his open homosexuality. One fateful evening, igniting the ire of his boyfriend Rudy, Max invites a striking Sturmabteilung (S.A.) man to their shared sanctuary. Tragically, this coincides with Hitler's ruthless Night of the Long Knives, resulting in the S.A. man's murder in their apartment by the relentless S.S. men. Forced to abandon their home, Max and Rudy find themselves ensnared in a perilous journey. Max's Uncle Freddie, a beacon of hope, arranges their escape with new identities. But Max's love for Rudy anchors him, and in refusing to abandon him, they are discovered, seized by the Gestapo, and condemned to the chilling confines of the Dachau concentration camp. On the torturous train ride to Dachau, the guards brutally murder Rudy, leaving Max in despair. In an act of self-preservation, he denies his homosexuality and is branded with a yellow label, the mark for Jews, instead of the pink label assigned to gays. In the bleak landscape of the camp, Max crosses paths with the courageous Horst, a fellow prisoner unashamedly wearing his pink label. In the throes of hopelessness, a bond blossoms between them, with Horst teaching Max the power of dignity and the valor in standing true to one's beliefs. This poignant tale charts Max's journey of love, loss, and self-discovery amidst the horrors of the Nazi regime.
