Becoming Blond (2012)

In the heart of a quaint town lives SEBASTIAN, a translator engrossed in the world of forgotten romance languages, sharing a home with his roommate IDA, a cyber-savvy nudist who yearns for love. While Sebastian finds solace in the intricate verses of overlooked poetry, Ida finds herself drawn to an online persona, HIPPO, whom she has never met in person. They reside in the home of AUNT GERTRUDE, Ida's eccentric nudist aunt, who mistakenly believes Ida is married and bequeaths the house to her and her non-existent husband, leaving the rest to her beloved poodle, NOODLES. Panic-stricken at the prospect of losing her home, Ida embarks on a desperate search for a spouse. All the while, Hippo plots to deceive Aunt Gertrude with his pet cemetery business. When Ida witnesses Aunt Gertrude fainting live on her webcam, she fears the worst. In a bid to help, Sebastian proposes a marriage of convenience, only to be rejected and expelled from the house. Homeless, Sebastian takes refuge in his car, until an enchanting artist-cum-thief, STONE, begins to dismantle it for his junk art. Intrigued, Sebastian follows Stone into his workshop and unexpectedly finds himself falling in love. Meanwhile, Ida decides to contact Hippo, and is taken aback to find he isn't in Brussels but in Speonk, Long Island. Despite the surprise, their interaction sows the seeds of love. However, Hippo's love takes a dark turn as he abducts Noodles, leading Ida to accept Sebastian's marriage proposal out of fear. Hippo, not willing to let go, follows Ida to a motel where Stone is employed. He confesses his true feelings for Ida and they end up marrying, while a heartbroken Sebastian chases Stone into the desert. Back home, Aunt Gertrude regains consciousness, finding Noodles by her side. The movie concludes with Sebastian and Stone, stripped bare, embarking on a new journey together, leaving the audience wondering where their adventures will take them next.
