Plot

In the pulsating heart of 1960's London, a tempestuous tale unfolds as Paul, a divorced architect, finds new love in the arms of Nichole, a captivating Parisian. However, his teenage daughter, Jenny, dances to a different beat. Immersed in the underground world of beatnik culture, she seeks solace in the cavernous clubs humming with jazz and the primal echoes of rock 'n' roll. A rift forms between Jenny and her new stepmother, Nichole, who is not much older than her. Determined to disrupt their domestic harmony, she weaponizes her resentment against Nichole. The plot thickens when Jenny uncovers a connection between Nichole and a dancer from the local dance hall, a place known for its risqué performances and shady characters. Sensing an opportunity, she delves into Nichole's past, the murky depths of which threaten to tarnish her father's rose-tinted view of his new bride. Amidst this turmoil, Jenny becomes the object of desire for Kenny, the dance hall's predatory owner, adding another layer of danger to her rebellious exploration. "Beat Girl" is a vibrant and edgy portrayal of youth rebellion, family dynamics, and the clash of cultures in an era of change, where the rhythm of life is as unpredictable as the beat of the music.
