Plot

In the heart of the ordinary lies the extraordinary tale of Baxter, a white bull-terrier with a mind of his own. Presented as an unexpected gift to the lonely Mrs. Deville by her daughter Florence, Baxter finds himself in a world far removed from his desires. Despite Mrs. Deville's initial fear of Baxter, she clings to him as a lifeline against solitude. However, domestic tranquility does little to satisfy Baxter's primal cravings. Baxter yearns for a life of challenges and dominance, a stark contrast to his mundane existence with the elderly lady. Driven by this longing, Baxter orchestrates a chilling accident to free himself from his tedious life with Mrs. Deville. His calculated move lands him in the hands of the neighbors, a vibrant young couple whose lifestyle promises the excitement he craves. Baxter relishes in his newfound life, but his happiness is short-lived. The arrival of a baby in the family threatens his perfect world, prompting Baxter to embrace his darker instincts once again. His increasingly aggressive and dangerously cunning behavior unravels a twisted plot to secure his place in a new household. "Baxter" is a gripping journey into the mind of an ordinary pet with an extraordinary will. This psychological drama explores the lengths a dog will go to find his place in the world, challenging the boundaries of nature, nurture, and the uncharted territory in between.
