In the distant year of 3000 A.D., earth is no longer the home we knew. The human race, once the masters of their own planet, now cowers beneath the iron heel of the Psychlos, an alien race driven by insatiable greed and a thirst for ultimate profit. These gold-addicted tyrants have transformed Earth into a dystopian wasteland, ruthlessly stripping it of its resources and reducing humanity to a state of primitive existence. The Psychlos, led by the charismatic yet malevolent Terl, exploit the shattered remnants of humanity as slaves, treating them as nothing more than 'man-animals'.
