Autopsy (1975)

In the sultry heart of Rome, young pathologist Simona Sana finds herself in the midst of a puzzling epidemic of violent suicides, all seemingly triggered by an oppressive summer heat wave. Her life in the city's morgue becomes a dizzying whirl of long, sweltering hours, the heat exacerbating her struggle to pen her college thesis on natural deaths. This already intense situation takes an unexpected turn when one casualty of this suicide wave is identified by a devout Catholic priest, Paul Lenox, as his sister. Against the backdrop of simmering Rome, he vehemently insists that her death was not self-inflicted but a bloody act of murder. Intrigued and driven by a desire for the truth, Simona joins forces with Father Lenox in a desperate race to unravel the mystery. However, their pursuit of justice doesn't go unnoticed. A shadowy figure begins to stalk Simona, a chilling reminder that she's drifting dangerously close to uncovering the deadly truth behind the so-called suicides.
