In the shadow of global intrigue, the story commences in Budapest, where North Koreans viciously hunt Kim Hyun-jun, dubbing him a traitor. Parallelly in South Korea, President Cho Myung-ho (Lee Jung-gil), with his eyes firmly set on the future, envisages leading the world in nuclear technology, the century's most potent and cost-effective energy source.
To fulfill this ambitious vision, he turns to the enigmatic black-ops agent, Dr. Kwon Yong-kwan (Yoo Dong-geun). Dr. Kwon's mission is to secure the defection of North Korean scientist, Dr. Kim Myeong-guk, a linchpin in the nuclear technology sphere. However, his mission teeters on the edge of disaster, sabotaged by the formidable Athens team led by the ruthless Son Hyeok (Cha Seung-won), who is hell-bent on pilfering Dr. Kim's atomic secrets.
In the heart of this high-stakes game, a forbidden romance blooms between agents Hye-in and Jung-woo. Torn between her allegiance to Athens and her desire to safeguard Jung-woo's life, Hye-in navigates a precarious balance. The plot thickens as Son Hyeok's true alignment with Athens is exposed, leading to his arrest by the NTS for intense grilling.
However, Athens swiftly orchestrates his recovery, and the plot veers towards a chilling climax. Hye-in now devises a deadly plan to assassinate President Cho. Amidst the chaos, Jung-woo uncovers Hye-in's dual role as an Athens' agent. Yet, blinded by love, he permits her daring escape from the NTS's clutches, setting the stage for an explosive finale.
