Plot

In the shadowy depths of his rundown house, Joaquín, a tech genius bound by the confines of his wheelchair, seeks solace in the complex world of electronics. Still wrestling with the heartache of his wife and daughter's tragic deaths, he finds his life further complicated by the looming threat of foreclosure. Desperate to keep a roof over his head, he reluctantly rents out a room to Berta, an exotic dancer, and her eerily silent six-year-old daughter, Betty. Despite their initially uneasy coexistence, the house's melancholic atmosphere gradually softens as the trio form an unexpected bond. Joaquín's emotional barriers begin to crumble as he finds himself drawn to Berta, while also becoming intrigued by the enigmatic silence of little Betty, who mysteriously stopped speaking two years prior. However, this fragile semblance of a family is disrupted when Joaquín stumbles upon the sinister whispers of a criminal conspiracy seeping through the house's thin walls. A nefarious gang has devised a plan to rob a local bank, and Joaquín's world becomes a high-stakes chess game as he decides to sabotage their plot from the shadows. But as he stealthily navigates this dangerous game, he encounters unexpected revelations and hidden secrets that threaten to topple his strategy. Joaquín, Berta, and Betty find themselves plunged into a tumultuous cat-and-mouse chase, where the promise of light at the end of the tunnel is as elusive as the secrets that bind them. As the tension escalates, one question remains: Can they unravel the entangled threads of their lives before the darkness consumes them?
