When the Earth's moon is mysteriously transformed, reduced to 70% of its size and locked in a permanent crescent shape, the enigma is soon solved by the students of E Class at Kunugigaoka Junior High School. Their teacher, an eccentric yet supportive entity, is the source of this cosmic catastrophe. Offering the Japanese government a peculiar ultimatum, this entity seeks to educate the class that society has least faith in, the class with the lowest expectations for success. Armed with unique weaponry designed to only harm their teacher, these students are thrown into a strange academic year. Their syllabus: assassination. Their deadline: the end of the school year. Should they fail to terminate their teacher, the consequences are apocalyptic - not only will their summer break be forever lost, but so will the world.
