Any Old Port! (1932)

In the dimly lit labyrinth of a rundown hotel, mischief and mayhem find their way to the comedic duo, Stan and Ollie. Fate lands them in the midst of a damsel's distress, who is desperate to escape the clutches of the unscrupulous landlord, Long. Their heroic act leaves them penniless and on the run, leading them to a rendezvous with destiny at a local boxing hall. Seeing an opportunity to earn $50, Ollie volunteers Stan as "Battling Laurel," their ticket to salvation. However, unbeknownst to them, their past is about to rear its ugly head in the form of their formidable old nemesis, Musgy. Armed with a loaded glove, Musgy is a fearsome adversary, striking fear in the heart of the crowd and our unwitting hero, Stan. As the bell rings, the game of fisticuffs unfolds into a whirlwind of chaos and laughter. A twist of fate sees the power-packed glove exchanged, and against all odds, Stan emerges victorious. Yet, the celebration is short-lived as they discover that Ollie, in a twist of irony, had wagered their hard-earned fee on Stan's defeat. A rollercoaster of absurdity and hilarity, 'Any Old Port!' offers a comedic spin on the trials of friendship, courage, and unexpected turns of fortune.
