Susan Nicholas, a determined copy editor for the New York Courier, yearns to break free from the constraints of her role and pen her own captivating narratives. However, her pitches consistently fail to impress the discerning editor, Yvette Collins, who yearns for stories imbued with Susan's raw, personal passion. Susan's career hangs in the balance as she is handed a final opportunity to pitch a holiday story for the coveted Christmas Day edition. However, Susan's past haunts her; a painful breakup on Christmas Day has left her disillusioned with both love and the festive season. Encouraged by her parents, Susan embarks on a journey to write about a cherished family heirloom - a handcrafted angel tree topper. This intricate creation was carved by Susan's great-grandfather, Owen Thomas, for an actress with whom he was deeply in love, adding a layer of mystery since this actress was not Susan's great-grandmother, Maggie. The angel, passed down through generations and believed to possess a potent power of love, might just be the inspiration Susan needs. Upon receiving Yvette's approval, Susan dives into the task of unraveling the angel's enigmatic history. As part of her research, she inadvertently puts the angel's rumored power to the test. The polished Derek Hamilton, an advertising executive from her office who shares her indifference for Christmas, appears to be a logical match. Yet, she finds herself inexplicably drawn towards the charismatic artist Brady Howe, a man she initially found exasperatingly festive. Brady makes it his mission to rekindle Susan's lost Christmas spirit and, in doing so, might just awaken her heart. As Susan races against time to finish her article and keep her career afloat, she finds herself caught in an emotional crossfire. Will she follow logic or let her heart guide her?
