Altered Skin (2019)

In the heart of Karachi, American expatriate Craig Evans' life takes an unexpected turn when his wife, Pakistani doctor Insiya Zia, contracts an insidious pathogen known as the MN-2 during her routine hospital rounds. This pestilential virus induces fits of uncontrollable, violent rage in its victims. With no antidote in sight, Insiya is plunged into an induced coma by the medical team, while the virus ravages the nation, turning the infected into volatile 'carriers'. In the grip of this uncontrolled epidemic, the only glimmer of hope is Sedare, a palliative drug produced by local pharmaceutical titan, Ingenec. Sold as an adhesive 'patch', Sedare provides temporary relief from the relentless symptoms, but it's far from a cure, and proves futile in the battle against the virus's advanced stages. As Insiya's health spirals downwards, Craig seems resigned to the inevitable loss of his wife. However, when a slain investigative reporter is found in a city sewer, a chain reaction of startling revelations lead Craig into a labyrinth of mystery that surrounds the virus. It's a treacherous path of discovery that may hold the key to saving his wife's life, and possibly, unraveling the ominous origins of the MN-2 virus.
