All the Colors of the Dark (1972)

Haunted by her past, Jane Harrison resides in London with her devoted boyfriend Richard Steele, a persistent pharmaceutical representative who often travels for work. Jane's life is marred by two traumatic experiences; the brutal murder of her mother during her childhood and the recent, heart-wrenching loss of her unborn child in a devastating car crash. These events have left her emotionally scarred, transforming her into a woman ensnared by chilling nightmares of a menacing man wielding a dagger, his eyes a piercing blue, and plagued by unsettling daydreams that bleed into her reality. Richard, ever the rationalist, prescribes vitamins in an attempt to cure her psychological distress, while Jane's sister Barbara, an assistant to renowned psychiatrist Dr. Burton, insists on a more professional approach, urging Jane to seek therapy. Amid the whirlwind of conflicting advice, Jane encounters her enigmatic neighbor, Mary Weil, who entices her into the obscure world of a cult, promising an end to her relentless fears through participation in a Black Mass. Swept up in the allure of a potential escape from her torment, Jane succumbs to Mary's persuasive words and delves into the cult's mysterious rituals. However, the Black Mass appears to manifest her nightmares into her waking life, blurring the line between reality and her dark dreams. As Jane becomes increasingly convinced that the sinister figure from her nightmares, along with the cult's loyal followers, are closing in on her, the question remains: Can she find a way to break free from this living nightmare, or is she doomed to descend into her own personal hell, or worse, death?
