In the throbbing heart of Oakland's gangland, the soft echo of aspiring rapper Jahkor Abraham Lincoln's (Ashton Sanders) verse is drowned by the harsh symphony of his reality. As Jahkor navigates his life's labyrinth, burdened with relentless responsibilities and the ceaseless gang war, he finds himself straying further from the path of righteousness, culminating in a tragedy of his own making. This misfortune lands him in the cold confines of a prison cell, sharing the space with the father, J.D. (Jeffrey Wright), he never aspired to emulate. In this grim setting, Jahkor embarks on a poignant quest for self-understanding, weaving through the threads of their shared past and shared pain.
