Plot

Under the celestial canopy of 1957's Mojave Desert, esteemed astronomer Ted Lewis orchestrates a romantic dinner in honor of his cherished wife Lana, marking their anniversary. Meanwhile, in a cozy corner of town, Tammy, a small-time diner waitress with grand ambitions, watches a shooting star blaze across the sky, interpreting it as a promising omen. Little do they realize, this celestial spectacle is not a star, but an alien spacecraft hurtling towards Earth, its fiery trajectory ending with a crash in the desert's heart. The clandestine landing is witnessed only by young lovers, Dick and Penny, who are ensnared in a passionate embrace in a secluded lover's lane. From the wreckage of the spacecraft, the towering, metallic alien Urp emerges unscathed but deeply troubled. His concern is rooted in the escape of the monstrous Ghota, a one-eyed creature with an insatiable hunger that could spell doom for humanity. Urp, possessing knowledge vital to thwarting the looming disaster, takes over Dr. Lewis's body and seeks assistance from Tammy, the only human in town open-minded enough to heed his dire warnings. The local law enforcement, headed by Chief Dawson and Officer Vern, dismiss their claims, entrenched in their skepticism. Against all odds, Urp and Tammy must track down the ravenous Ghota, neutralizing it before it devours the town's populace and uses this human energy to reproduce and seize control of the world.
