Action Replayy (2010)

Caught in the crossfire of his parents' incessant bickering, Bunty Chopra takes a firm decision to evade his own looming marriage to girlfriend, Tanya Gonsalves. His destiny, however, leads him to Tanya's eccentric grandfather, Professor Anthony Gonsalves, a scientist with an unlikely invention: a time machine. With the hope of escaping his feared future, Bunty embarks on a whimsical journey back in time to the vibrant, bustling streets of 1975 Bombay. Stepping into a world coloured by the charisma of superstar Rajesh Khanna, the terror of Raman Raghav, and the soon-to-be-imposed emergency by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, he unexpectedly encounters his parents, Kishen and Mala, in their youth. Finding his father a timid, buck-toothed individual and his mother a rowdy tomboy, Bunty is taken aback by their starkly contrasting personalities. Under the shadow of multinational bans and amidst the hustle of a city on the brink of transformation, Bunty finds himself tangled in the tumultuous relationship of his young parents. He discovers the root of their present-day unhappiness; their inherent incompatibility that has persisted through 35 years of a troubled marriage. Challenged with the knowledge of the past and fueled by a desire to change the future, Bunty decides to set things right. However, he soon stumbles upon another hurdle - his mother's persistent admirer, who poses a threat to his mission. With the past, present and future hanging in the balance, Bunty is caught in a race against time to mend his parents’ fractured relationship and, in doing so, reshape his own destiny. Will he manage to alter the course of his family's history or will he be outwitted by the quirks and unpredictability of time itself?
