Abandon Ship (1957)

In the heart-stopping aftermath of a luxury liner's tragic demise, a motley crew of over twenty survivors find themselves adrift on a lifeboat designed for only nine souls. This unlikely band of survivors includes a seasoned opera singer, a nuclear physicist clutching his family close, a military General, a playwright accompanied by his loyal canine, a scholarly college professor, a gambler entwined with his mistress, the ship's nurturing nurse, and a handful of the ship's crew, spearheaded by the Captain and his second-in-command. Tragedy strikes again when the Captain succumbs to his injuries, thrusting the executive officer into a precarious position of power.
