Sixteen-year-old Lindsay Deerfield is a teen with an attitude, who finds Christmas passé and family gatherings tiresome. She's more interested in hitting the slopes with her pals and mingling with the coolest crowd at school than in the festive cheer of the holiday season. However, a chance encounter on Christmas Eve with a scruffy old man, mysteriously infused with Christmas magic, sets her life on a transformative path. Against the wishes of her expressive homosexual parents and the heartbreak of her little sister Alexis, Lindsay plans to ditch the family Christmas to go skiing. Her defiant stance remains unshaken, until she and her best friend Paige decide to have some fun at the expense of the mall Santa. While his presence might not be cool, the lure of a free candy cane proves irresistible. Lindsay's sharp tongue and sassy remarks are met with an unexpected request from Santa - a complete makeover. His marriage to Mrs. C has lost its sparkle, and he believes a fresh look might rekindle the warmth in their frosty North Pole home. Touched by his earnestness, Lindsay takes on the challenge, transforming Santa into a modern, stylish version of himself. Impressed with Lindsay's work, Santa reveals a secret - his sleigh won't start. He needs her help to deliver presents on Christmas Eve, proposing an unusual solution - hitching his reindeer to Lindsay's convertible.
