Plot

At the heart of the third act of Rohmer's captivating "4 Seasons-Cycle", we find ourselves in the company of Gaspard, a young, introspective mathematics graduate. He embarks on a holiday in the scenic coastal town of Dinard, Bretagne, awaiting the arrival of Lena, a girl he believes he is in love with. However, love, like a summer's breeze, is ever changeable. Gaspard soon crosses paths with Margot, a charming girl who serves at her aunt's quaint creperie. An unexpected friendship blooms between them as they navigate through the summer days. Their conversations, filled with shared secrets and unspoken emotions, become a mirror to the uncertainty of Gaspard's own feelings. While he maintains he's in love with Lena, the seeds of doubt are sown. As the sun-drenched days of Dinard continue, Gaspard is introduced to another enchanting young lady, further complicating his emotional landscape. Suddenly, our reticent mathematician finds himself juggling an intricate equation of sentiments, a territory foreign to him. "A Summer's Tale" is an exploration of young love, discovered and dissected under the watchful gaze of the summer sun. It pulls you into the whirlwind of Gaspard's summer adventure, filled with the promise of newfound friendships, romantic possibilities, and the ever-present question of what true love really is. The answer, much like the summer tide, ebbs and flows with the passing of time.
