Independent and uncommitted, Caryn Briggs (Rachel Boston), a business consultant who values her freedom more than anything, has always viewed the institution of marriage with a skeptical eye. She's spent years prioritizing her career and personal liberty over settling down, letting a series of steady boyfriends pass by without a second thought. However, her life takes a whimsical turn when she attends a charity event with her friends, Gregg (Chad Krowchuk) and Stephanie (Ali Liebert), and whimsically decides to have her fortune told by the enigmatic Madame Rue (Stefanie Powers). Madame Rue's startling prediction - a ring by spring or Caryn will forever remain alone - initially seems trivial to Caryn. She brushes it off as she embarks on a new professional journey with her affable boss, Tom Halsey (Kirby Morrow). But as Gregg and Stephanie's fortunes begin to materialize, Caryn finds herself questioning her dismissive attitude towards the prophecy. The prospect of an impending proposal from her serious boyfriend, Bryce (Chris Jacot), triggers a wave of anxiety, only for him to unexpectedly break up with her, citing her unsuitability for marriage. Facing a harsh reality check, Caryn is forced to confront her fears of long-term commitment. As spring looms closer, she grapples with the possibility of a solitary life.
