Plot

Under the shroud of a seemingly ordinary night, the life of Will, a fugitive on the run, takes an unexpected detour when he seeks sanctuary in a barn. Unbeknownst to him, the barn is a silent witness to a passionate dispute between its owners, April and Martin. As the echoes of their quarrel subside, a chilling gunshot reverberates from the house, propelling Will into an unforeseen predicament. In the aftermath of the gunshot, April emerges, dragging Martin's seemingly lifeless body towards the barn. Upon discovering Will, a tense alliance is forged in the crucible of their desperate circumstances. Will, convincing her of his benign intentions, entangles himself in her dire situation, aware that his witness to the apparent murder binds their fates together. Their mutual objective to avoid the looming specter of prison gives birth to a daunting mission: the disposal of Martin's body. However, their plan unravels as Martin's body, once believed lifeless, is found to be stubbornly clinging to life. Their simple task of disposal spirals into a harrowing nightmare of kidnapping. As the pair grapple with the spiraling events, they are confronted with a series of hard choices, the cost of their freedom teetering precariously on each decision. "A Fork in the Road" masterfully intertwines suspense with human desperation, as Will and April strive to navigate their way out of the labyrinth they find themselves in, risking everything to keep from losing it all.
