Plot

In the heart of a corrupted town lives Jeremy Rollins, a peculiar young man bearing a unique, uncanny ability. He possesses the power to redirect any physical harm intended for him, along with the pain and injury, to the wrongdoer's closest loved one. Jeremy's life has been one of seclusion, his mother wisely choosing to home-school him to protect him from prying eyes that might exploit his abnormality. This sheltered upbringing leaves him naive, almost childlike. Suddenly orphaned by the untimely demise of his mother, Jeremy finds himself thrust into the harsh realities of a society whose citizens clothe themselves in cruelty. The town is a cesspool of corruption, home to a tyrannical sheriff and his bullying son, a devious temptress seeking fortune, and a lost, misguided reverend. Amidst this motley crew, he finds an unlikely ally in Jess, a local waitress who sees beyond Jeremy's simple exterior. As Jeremy's unique condition gradually comes to light through a series of confrontations with the town's denizens, Jess becomes privy to his secret. He reluctantly opens up about his strange power and the unfortunate consequences it holds. With every conflict, Jeremy gains a deeper understanding of his condition and its complexities. A shocking revelation about his mother's death leads to a confrontation with the town's corrupt authority, resulting in the death of the sheriff's son. The incident marks a turning point for Jeremy. For the first time, his actions stem not from confusion or fear, but acceptance of his unique condition. Embracing his gift, Jeremy uses it as a tool to impart a lesson in compassion, demonstrating its power in the most profound way.
