8 ½ Women (1999)

In the wake of his wife's passing, Philip Emmenthal (Sir John Standing), a businessman of fifty-five years, succumbs to the whims of his son Storey (Matthew Delamere), a suave playboy. Together, they transform their stately Geneva mansion into a haven for eight and a half alluring concubines, three of whom hail from the mesmerizing city of Kyoto, Japan, where Storey oversees a sprawling empire of Pachinco palaces. Each woman is an enchanting enigma, ranging from a devout nun, a prolific mother, a hardened gambler, a Kabuki enthusiast, a spirited equestrienne with a fondness for pigs, to a dutiful maid. Gradually, Philip sheds his uptight demeanor, surrendering himself to a world of unexplored pleasure. However, as the year wanes, these women slowly begin to wield their own influence. Amidst the backdrop of unexpected escapades, the harmony of their unusual household begins to crumble, with each woman taking her leave in her unique way. All that remains of Philip's once bustling haven is Palmira (Polly Walker), his most cherished concubine, who now holds the reins to his destiny.
