7½ Phere (2005)

In the bustling city of Mumbai, Asmi Ganatra finds herself tasked with an intriguing assignment: to produce an authentic TV serial for 786 Plus, focusing on the intricate dynamics of a traditional wedding in a joint family. Her search for the perfect setting lands her at the doorstep of the chaotic Joshi family. Initially, they agree to her unusual proposal, intrigued by the prospect of their family wedding being televised. But the fear of exposing their closeted skeletons to public view soon overpowers their curiosity, leading them to back out. Undeterred, Asmi finds an unlikely ally in the smitten Manoj Joshi, who, bewitched by her charm, agrees to a clandestine arrangement. Against the family's knowledge, they plant hidden cameras throughout the sprawling mansion, turning the Joshi household into an unwitting stage for their unscripted drama. However, as the cameras start rolling, the seemingly perfect family unravels into a hilarious circus of secrets. From the randy antics of the elderly Taoji, a clandestine affair between one of the brothers and Faujia, the sultry maid, to the would-be bride, Piya, plotting a daring escape with her lover Rahul, the Joshi family's dirty laundry is aired for all to see. The once tranquil mansion descends into utter pandemonium, with Manoj in a comedic tug-of-war between his loyalty to his family and his infatuation with Asmi. Meanwhile, Asmi and her crew are resolute in capturing every scandalous moment, undeterred by the escalating chaos.
