2 Days in the Valley (1996)

In the shadowy realms of Los Angeles, lethal hitman Lee Woods and his luckless partner Dosmo Pizzo are engrossed in a dangerous game, their eyes locked on the house of Becky Foxx, an up-and-coming Olympic skier, who's entangled in a forbidden affair with her ex-husband Roy. As darkness falls, their sinister mission unfurls - a chilling injection for Becky, a deadly bullet for Roy, and an unexpected betrayal that leaves Dosmo in the fiery wreckage of their getaway car. Meanwhile, Lee vanishes into the night, his enigmatic Norwegian sweetheart, Helga Svelgen, by his side. The city's underbelly is teeming with other equally intriguing characters. Alvin Strayer, a grizzled vice detective with a penchant for bigotry, is on the verge of cracking down on an Asian massage parlor, much to the dismay of his greenhorn partner, Wes Taylor. Dosmo, saved by a bulletproof vest and a hefty dose of luck, finds refuge in the ostentatious mansion of Allan Hopper, an arrogant art dealer crippled by kidney stones and reliant on his long-suffering assistant, Susan Parish. Elsewhere, Teddy Peppers, a has-been director teetering on the brink of suicide, seeks a new home for his cherished dog Bogey, eventually crossing paths with Audrey Hopper, Allan's half-sister. Over the course of two unforgettable days, the lives of these disparate characters intertwine in a dance of deception, revelation, and redemption, their stories masterfully woven into a rich tapestry that parodies the crime thriller genre. Each finds themselves ensnared in a deadly scheme that involves love, jealousy, ambition and betrayal, setting the stage for a gripping tale that defies expectations at every turn.
