Plot

Ramón Arroyo, a successful CEO in Bilbao, Spain, enjoys a fulfilling life with his wife, Inma, spent between an enriching job and nurturing friendships. This seemingly stable life is abruptly shattered when Ramón wakes up one day, paralyzed and unable to stand. A devastating diagnosis at the hospital reveals he has multiple sclerosis, a degenerative disease that will gradually rob him of all body movement, confining him to a wheelchair for life. As Ramón begins his treatment in the hospital, meeting patients with more advanced stages of the disease, Inma faces her own struggles. Her father, Manolo, attempts suicide, grappling with loneliness after the death of his wife. Forced to move in with his daughter and Ramón, Manolo's strained relationship with his son-in-law adds to the family's growing tensions. However, a spark of hope ignites when Ramón stumbles upon a poster about an Iron Man competition in the hospital - a grueling race involving swimming, cycling, and running. Now determined to conquer this challenge, Ramón enrolls, receiving unexpected help from Manolo, a former professional athlete in his youth. Their training takes them to the tranquility of the countryside, where Ramón inadvertently learns about Manolo's suicide attempt due to his deep grief over his wife's death. During a training session on the beach, Ramón meets the captivating Noelia. Hoping to help Manolo, he devises a plan to bring them together. As the date of the Iron Man competition approaches, Ramón is driven not only to prove his physical strength but also to demonstrate that true heroes are ordinary individuals who, when challenged, can rise above their circumstances, overcome personal demons, and prove the extraordinary potential within every human being.
