Plot

Tribe follows former Royal Marine and expedition leader Bruce Parry as he dines with former cannibals in West Papua, experiences painful skin-cutting rituals in Ethiopia and totally tests the physical limits of living with ancient tribes in uncharted parts of the world. Starting September 18, Tribe premiere every Monday at 10pm, encores on Tuesdays at 3am, 8am and 3pm; Saturdays at 9pm; and Sundays at 10am and 5pm. In this program, Parry will guide viewers through some of the world's most remote areas to experience first hand indigenous people's lives. Parry sheds social trappings, and sometimes his clothes, as he tries to live alongside these people and, as far as possible, adopt their methods and practices. Watch how Parry eats maggots from a rotting tree and then lets a maggot eat the wax in his ears. Later he goes through the painful ritual of pushing a sago thorn through the septum of his nose.
