The Shield (2002)

This is the story of a special task force of the Los Angeles Police Department to fight crime in the inner-city. The force is lead by a corrupt team that uses criminal methods to keep control of the criminals. While this isn’t sanctioned by the police department, it doesn’t do anything about it because of the successful low crime rate. A recruit isn’t willing to participate in the corrupt ways and is fatally shot by the leader who needs to hide his tactics to run for mayor. This puts in motion a series of events that challenge the task force and the honesty of the police department.

The Shield is an action show featuring Michael Chiklis and created by Shawn Ryan.
