The Pacific (2010)

This is historical fiction that takes place in the Pacific Theater of World War II. It follows the lives of U.S. Marines fighting the Japanese and the hardships they need to endure in the South Pacific islands. It is a fast-paced storyline that not only shows action but also the relationships of the soldiers who depend on each other for their lives. It was made by the same producers of Band of Brothers, which took place in Europe. Based on true accounts of Marines in the war, it covers battles on Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Okinawa and all the horrors they faced.
