The 4400 (2004)

This is a science fiction thriller in which 4,400 people are missing and apparently abducted by aliens. They are returned to earth, all at the same time, with special powers. The abductees arrive on earth in a ball of fire with no memory of what happened to them. The series follows two National Security Agency (NSA) agents while they investigate a few of the people returned and their transformations. Some super abilities found are for good and some are for bad actions. Can the investigators discover the cause of the changes and stop the people who were changed for the worse?
