Rome (2005)

When Julius Caesar returns from Gaul in 49 B.C. as a conquering hero, he challenges the Roman establishment, crushes the powerful elites of the Republic and establishes himself as emperor. It sets in motion an epic period of Roman history. The events of the times are played out in this sweeping historical drama from the viewpoints of both the high and mighty and ordinary citizenry of Rome. Rank-and-file soldiers Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo are engulfed by the monumental events of history as they attempt to navigate their lives in the tumultuous milieu of mid-1st Century B.C. Italy.
