Madoka and Sayaka are given an opportunity that countless school-aged girls could only dream of — to be granted the powers of a "magical girl" and the means to fight evil in its many forms. But when a girl named Hamora who has been mysteriously appearing in Madoka's dreams appears and warns her to be careful about the power, she comes to the realization that things aren't exactly what they seem. The offer of becoming a magic girl may be tempting, but it comes with some strings attached that they didn't know about in the first place.
